How to apply for Sri Lanka visa online

Follow the steps given below and get your Sri Lanka visa in no time:

  1. Go to the ‘Visa’ section on the MakeMyTrip app, and select ‘Sri Lanka’.
  2. Select your ‘date of entry’ and ‘date of exit’.
  3. Select the number of travellers and click on ‘Apply’.
  4. Upload a coloured copy of the front page of your passport to get your Sri Lanka visa.
    Note : Your passport should be valid for 6 months from your date of entry in Sri Lanka.
  5. Fill the Sri Lanka visa application form.
  6. Pay your Sri Lanka visa fees using the mode of payment of your choice.
  7. Get your Sri Lanka visa on e-mail.

Sri Lanka Visa Process

After your booking is confirmed, we will send your Sri Lanka visa application to the Embassy. The Embassy usually takes 3 to 4 working days to approve the Sri Lanka visa, in case no additional documents are required.

You can apply for your Sri Lanka visa anytime through MakeMyTrip. However, we will forward your documents to the Embassy for processing only 30 days prior to your departure, to ensure that it is valid at the time of your travel.

You can cancel your Sri Lanka visa application at any time, till your documents are submitted to the embassy. Post the submission of your application, there will be no cancellation or refund.

Types of Sri Lanka visa for Indians

Sri Lanka visa for Indians is divided into 4 categories – Tourist Visa, Business Visa, Transit Visa and Residence Visa.

Remember: Sri Lanka visa on arrival is not applicable for Indian nationals. It is only applicable for Singapore, Maldives and Seychelles nationals.
